Meet The Team

Erik Hemingway

FOUNDER

Erik Hemingway, Founder of Nomad Capital, has nearly 22 years of experience in all aspects of the construction and self-storage industry. He has been a part of over $100 million dollars of commercial real estate transactions and $60 million in residential real estate since 2006. He built his first self-storage facility from the ground up in 2006, guided that facility through the Great Recession, and has since built a personal portfolio of 4 self-storage facilities using the value-add strategy. He founded Nomad Capital to help others achieve their dream of nomadic freedom and having the ability to do whatever they want, whenever they want.

Levi Hemingway

CO-FOUNDER

Levi Hemingway, Director of Construction and Expansion, is responsible for all aspects of the field: estimating build costs, coordinating subcontractors, obtaining permits, inspections, quality control, and purchasing. He has been a general contractor for 9 years and has overseen the renovation or ground-up development of over 500,000 square feet of commercial construction. Levi is also our integrator as he oversees all of the day-to-day operations for Nomad Capital including due diligence, closing process, capital markets and asset management. Levi is married and has 3 kids under the age of 5! Levi and his family love spending time on their boat, or exploring the great outdoors. In his free time he does stage acting and is always trying to make the team at Nomad laugh!

Andrew Lewis

CFO & Treasurer

Andrew Lewis, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer within the conglomerate of companies in the Hemingway portfolio. Andrew assists the team by performing a plethora of tasks including but not limited to the development of operating budgets for the various divisions while preparing financial reports and maintaining accurate, up-to-date general ledgers. Prior to Nomad, Andrew grew up in Ohio where he attended Cedarville College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a minor in Finance. From there, he moved to NYC to become an integral part of expanding a young multimedia company called ImageDog for over a decade. His love of golf and entrepreneurial spirit brought him to Wilmington where he purchased and managed a local par-3 golf course. After the sale of the golf course, he pursued a career in Hydrographic Survey with a national dredging company, Weeks Marine, which later transitioned into a position as an Estimator in their corporate headquarters in Louisiana. Andrew’s next chapter in his life’s journey began with the Hemingways as their Area Manager in the storage division while learning the business from the ground up before taking on the challenges of the finance department.

Clint Harris

Investor Relations

Clint Harris, Investor Relations & Capital Raising, has a 15-year background in medical device sales. Clint has always been in the business of innovation, and creative solutions. In addition to his work with Nomad, Clint owns a strong multifamily real estate portfolio and built a highly successful property management company from the ground up with an emphasis on streamlining automation and vertical integration. Clint’s core belief is that financial independence, when combined with location and time independence, creates independence of Purpose. He joined Nomad with the goal of sharing that vision with our investors daily.

Neil Henderson

Investor Relations

Neil Henderson Investor Relations, joined Nomad Capital to help others realize financial and location independence. He has been a part of over $25 million of commercial real estate transactions. In addition to his work with Nomad Capital, Neil created The Road to Family Freedom podcast to teach busy people with families how to achieve financial and location independence through real estate investing. His prior experience in real estate includes raising capital for apartment syndications and owning and operating one of the highest-rated short-term rental listings in Las Vegas.

Drake Massa

Director of Acquisitions

Drake Massa is the Director of Acquisitions and is responsible for all analysis, underwriting and due diligence as well as Capital Markets. Drake’s expertise is in contract negotiation, construction management, and financial analysis where he graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a double concentration in Finance and Marketing Strategy.

Drake’s business history involves the creation, expansion and leadership of his landscape design company while attending college. Drake is responsible for over $100 million in assets purchased with Nomad Capital. In his spare time, he enjoys anything outdoors whether that’s fishing on his boat, sitting on a sandbar, watching sports or cheering on his Atlanta sports teams.

Joshuah Mundy

Asset Management and Investor Relations

Joshuah Mundy has a blended role working in Asset Management and Investor Relations at Nomad Capital. He joined the company in 2021 after relocating his family from Michigan to North Carolina. In both departments, his primary focus is developing systems and maximizing operational efficiency. Prior to Nomad, Joshuah had always been passionate about real estate, but he was just getting his feet wet. He started as an intern with Nomad and has been with the company since its inception. Joshuah is married and has 2 kids under 2, so sleep is scarce. When not working or hanging at the house, you can usually find him with his family at the beach or the park.

Hannah Bono

Director of Marketing

Hannah Bono, our Director of Marketing, is passionate about design, branding, and connecting with people. She joins us from a leading agency in California, where she worked on some big brands, including Major League Baseball, Target, and Hulu. She was seeking an opportunity to use her skills in a more fulfilling way, with the potential to change lives.

After moving across the country to Wilmington, NC with her husband and two pups, she attended a Nomad Capital meet-up that caught her attention. She was immediately drawn to the company’s mission to help people achieve financial independence through real estate investing.

When she’s not working, you can find Hannah spending time with her family, making pottery, and working on home renovations.

Josh Blackham

Commercial Property Manager

Josh Blackham, Commercial Property Manager, is a British Expat who has been living stateside for almost 9 years. Originally from England, Josh settled in North Carolina and joined the US Army. While in the Army, he started getting involved in the Real Estate Industry. Now for the past 6 years, he has worked in a variety of roles including Construction, Real Estate Management, Long-term Rentals, and even his own personal fix-n-flip properties. Since 2019, He has thrived in the role of Commercial Property Manager at Nomad Capital, starting first with storage facilities and then expanding into the management of other commercial lease properties. Day-to-day he oversees nine commercial properties within the company communicating with local property managers, conducting site inspections and researching ways to improve operations. Given his versatile background, he’s a resourceful part of the team when it comes to problem-solving any issues that arise and ensuring things are running smoothly. In his spare time, he enjoys a good football (soccer) match, spending time with his wife and two boys, or tackling one of the many remodeling projects going on at home.

Heather Miller

Office Manager / Investor Relations

Heather Miller serves as the Office Manager while also contributing to the Investor Relations team. With a passion for fostering relationships and an aptitude for organization, Heather plays an integral role in maintaining a streamlined flow of the office. Her attention to detail and structured approach keep the team on track and contribute significantly to overall efficiency. Her passion for connecting with people and a strong desire to serve others is a great benefit to the investor relations team.

Heather is thrilled to be a part of the Nomad team. Heather, her husband Robert, and their dog Echo moved from Michigan to North Carolina in August of 2022. They followed their daughter and son-in-law after the news that their first grandchild was on the way. “We never had a desire to leave Michigan. Funny how such a small being can impact such big decisions.” She has a passion for the Nomad mission and is grateful to have this career path be one of the many blessings of their adventure that was put in motion by a tiny human. When Heather isn’t working, you’re likely to find her and Robert at the beach – no matter the weather, no matter the season.

Nathan Landoli

Administrative Assistant

Nathan Landoli graduated from Montreat College with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a focus on management. Along with his studies, he also played on the men’s soccer team while he attended school. Nathan was born and raised in Wilmington, NC (a rare breed). He joined Nomad in September 2023 where he will primarily assist the accounting department but will also help in other aspects of the business where needed.

Before working at Nomad, he was an Assistant Director at Chick-fil-A where he gained 2 years of experience in management. He was responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the business as needed. This included managing inventory, training new and existing employees on proper practices, and ensuring his team’s success. In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing soccer, coaching a local soccer team, helping at his church, enjoying the great outdoors, and spending time with his friends and loved ones.
